Tim Young

Tim has enjoyed a career lasting over 25 years in the global financial services industry. He was previously Global Head of the Strategic Transactions Group at Swiss Re Capital Markets, designing and implementing complex cross-border transactions for its client base worldwide. He has also worked in senior positions in the structured finance groups at Bank of America and RBS.

He has recently been consulting with several global financial institutions on the correct regulatory capital treatment of a range of financial products, particularly in the areas of credit correlation, derivatives, real estate and trade finance. His main role has been to devise strategies for the efficient use of regulatory capital under Basel III/CRR for assets that were effectively trapped on the bank’s balance sheet.


Tim holds a degree in economics from Kingston University and is a qualified member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers.

Tom is a Board Director and Chief Governance Office with Power by Britishvolt, the UK's foremost investor in battery manufacturing and technologies.


Prior to Britishvolt, Tom was a Board Director and General Counsel to Ecotricity Group, the leading UK renewables energy group, were he advised on all of the business' major milestones for the group including corporate an renewable energy infrastructure funding and finance, and the development and disposal of a national electric vehicle charging network.


Having started his career in investment banking, Tom brings with him extensive commercial, corporate, finance/funding and dispute resolution experience especially in highly regulated and complex sectors. He combines his in-depth knowledge and in-house experience with a pragmatic, commercial approach.

Liana began her career at magic circle law firm Linklaters LLP before moving into the banking sector, gaining 15 years of experience at various financial institutions including Barclays, Coutts, RBS/NatWest and most recently in her role at Bank of America, where she spent five years as a Senior Director across Trade Finance Legal and Product Management within the Global Transaction Services Team. While specialising in Trade, Supply Chain and Export Credit Agency Finance, Liana’s expertise includes general banking, lending and regulatory work. Liana has led a multitude of cross border banking projects involving regulatory changes and trade innovation mainly involving digital trade instruments.


Liana holds an MA from Oxford University, St Anne’s College and is legally qualified in England & Wales. Liana is fluent in Romanian, as well as advanced proficiency in Italian, Spanish and French. 


Liana is a qualified sommelier holding an Advanced Level 3 Qualification from the Wine and Spirits Education Trust.
